Description

A postgraduate course on the theory of data science and its application to civil and transportation engineering problems. It covers supervised, unsupervised and reinforcement learning, and demonstrates these methods on spatio-temporal traffic state prediction, human mobility pattern discovery, traffic congestion identification and characterisation, traffic incident analysis, and the operation and control of smart mobility systems. Students learn to formulate real-world engineering applications as data science problems and to compare competing approaches against common performance criteria.

Duty

Teaching assistant for two cohorts. I answered questions on course content, supported students through the Python tutorials and programming assignments, and marked coursework.
